Questions
How do the Cellar and camera work?
Add your own wines, quantities and tasting notes in the Cellar. The small wine count counts wines still on hand, not individual bottles. You can optionally attach a photo from the camera or photo library. This is not a wine scanner: the app does not identify a wine from a picture. You can continue without granting photo or camera access.
Bottle details and tasting notes can sync when you sign in. Photos stay on the device where you added them; they do not transfer to another phone with your account.
Can I replay Pip's tips?
Yes. Open Crew → Settings → Privacy & support → Replay Pip's screen guides. You can skip any guide. The mock-exam timer starts after its guide, not while you read it.
Where is my progress saved?
On your device, so the app works offline. If you sign in with Apple or Google (Crew → Settings → Account), a copy is also kept in your account.
How do I move my progress to a new phone?
Sign in with Apple or Google on the old phone (Crew → Settings → Account) so your voyage is saved to your account, then sign in with the same account on the new phone and it comes back.
Do I need an account?
No. Everything works without one, and your progress stays on your phone. An account only keeps a copy of your voyage so you can pick it up on another phone.
What does signing in with Apple or Google store?
Your name, your email address and a user ID from Apple or Google, plus a copy of your voyage. It is used only to save and restore your progress; see the privacy policy. We never see your Apple or Google password.
I used Hide My Email with Apple. Is that a problem?
No. Apple gives us a relay address instead of your real one, and sign-in works the same. Just sign in with Apple again on your next phone.
What is the difference between Log out and Delete account?
Log out removes the voyage from that phone and keeps it in your account for next time. Delete account erases the account, the copy in our database and everything on the phone, with no way back. Both are in Crew → Settings → Account.
Can I delete my account without the app?
Yes. Email assafelal06@gmail.com from the address you signed in with and we erase the account and its data.
Sign-in didn't complete
Check that the phone is online and try again. With Google, make sure a Google account is added to the phone. If it keeps failing, email us with your iOS version and which provider you used; your progress on the phone is never affected.
I've already passed a level. Do I have to start from the beginning?
No. In the welcome guide, tell Pip which level you've passed and the ship sails past those islands. Otherwise the chart opens island by island: finish the one you're on and the fog lifts on the next.
Why is the next island under clouds?
The chart shows the island you're on. The next lies under fog until you beat this island's boss. Tap the banner under the clouds to see what's there and, if you'd rather not wait, open it early with Corks you've earned (100 to 250 by level). Islands you've finished stay above you and can be revisited any time.
How do I start over?
Open Crew → Settings → Reset my voyage to reset learning progress. Guests can use Delete all my data; signed-in users can use Account → Delete account. Read the confirmation carefully before continuing. A reset can sync to your signed-in account; it is not a backup or a way to recover earlier progress.
Which languages are available?
The complete course is available in English, Hebrew, Spanish, French, German, Italian, Brazilian Portuguese, Japanese, Traditional Chinese, Korean, Dutch, Russian, Greek and Turkish. Choose a language on the start page or in Crew → Settings → Language. Hebrew uses a right-to-left layout.
The celebrations are too much. Can I tone them down?
Set Crew → Settings → Celebrations to Calm for plain transitions without particles. The app also follows iOS Reduce Motion. The sound button in the top bar mutes effects.
What are Corks, and can I buy them?
Corks are earned by studying: quests, trophies, streaks and chests. They buy streak freezes, and can open the next island or a locked step early. They can't be bought, and nothing in the app costs money.
Is Master Wine an official WSET app?
No. It is an independent study aid and is not affiliated with or endorsed by the Wine & Spirit Education Trust.
